ATLANTIS PLASTICS APPOINTS NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
OF FINANCE AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

ATLANTA, GA - (December 4, 2000) Atlantis Plastics, Inc. (ASE:AGH) today announced the appointment of Paul G. Saari as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities include finance, treasury and systems.

Mr. Saari comes to Atlantis Plastics from Rock-Tenn Company, Norcross, Georgia, where he was Vice President of Finance. As a member of the financial team, Mr. Saari was responsible for strategic analysis of internal and external growth opportunities for the company. He was instrumental in the valuation analysis, strategic and legal reviews for numerous acquisitions and joint ventures resulting in significant company growth and diversification. Mr. Saari earned his B.A. in Economics at Dickinson College and an MBA in Finance at Emory University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
